Turquoise City Collection

"The 'Turquoise City' collection brings together works created and gathered between the years 2007 and 2013."

My city, Isfahan, weaves a quiet narrative into every thread of its being—a story told through brick, sky, and a gentle, serene blue. The "Turquoise City" collection is the result of years of observation, internalization, and reinterpretation of Isfahan’s urban spaces; a city where every alley is colored by history, and every wall carries the echo of silence.
In this collection, brick is presented not merely as a building material, but as a visual element and a native language embedded within the works. In the paintings, bricks appear as a living texture—constructing space and preserving memory. Each piece of brick is a clay fragment of the city’s collective memory.
The dominant color throughout the works is blue—the blue of the sky, the tiles, the water, and of dreams. In this collection, blue evokes both a sense of tranquility and stands as a symbol of Isfahan itself. It becomes a metaphor for vastness, distance, and the dreamlike suspension of time within the urban landscape. The underlying theme of the works is silence and solitude at the heart of urban density—a place where architectural elements, through their repeating rhythms, create a modern space imbued with echoes of the past.
These works are an attempt to rediscover a city I have always lived in—but seen now through a renewed gaze, with shades of turquoise, geometric textures, and memories that seem to rise gently from within its very walls.
